Frequently Asked Questions

My mom made me. My mom always fostered opportunities to craft or create. One rainy day at our Boundary Waters cabin, she pulled out all the materials—broken plates, cutting tools, glue—and we got to work. I felt an instant connection to the process of breaking and rebuilding. I learned the technique and process through the COMPAS/Artswork summer program, where I worked as an apprentice artist with Sharra Frank.
I established my own art practice in 2012.

Heck yes I do! Connect with me and we can chat more.

Your budget. This will ultimately determine the size.
Your timeline. When do you need the piece completed by? I have a waiting list that typically stretches out a few months into the future.
A photo. If you want me to work from a photo, a quality, well-lit photo makes all the difference for how the piece turns out. See my reference photo tips.

I prefer Venmo or Zelle. However, we can chat about other options if needed.

In this economy?! Sadly, no; I work out of my house.

I started with a rough sketch on tilebacker board. Then I break glass—and lots of it! All my mosaics are made by me, hand-breaking glass with a wheel cutter or an oil cutter tool. I then glue it to the base as I go. Once I’m done cutting glass, I grout the piece like you would a tiled floor or kitchen backsplash.

Not unless we discussed that at the beginning of the project. Mosaics CAN be suited for outdoor display, but the treatment of the base it’s on and the type of adhesive used would need to change.

I currently teach at the nonprofit FOCI in Minneapolis! If you’re interested in scheduling a 1:1 or group class outside of a formal classroom setting, we can also make that happen.
-
I’m not able to at this time. I aspire to someday have enough inventory to work a booth at a fair, but I’m not a full-time artist—yet ;)

You can buy pieces directly from my online shop (if there are any). I also have small pieces available locally at I Like You Too in St. Paul, Minnesota.
